I bring you news and beaver plews from the land that is Beyond

where one can follow their dreams on the morning steams

like Thoreau on his journey through the ponds.

I’ve laid many fires and portaged deep mires

and patiently made my way.

I’ve dined on Moose and Beaver tail

beside the shimmering stream.

I’ve camped and hiked and broken trail

whilst under the moonlights gleam.

My paddle danced as I entranced took in the beautiful scene

No soul in sight just the awesome might of the Wildness before me.

Where late at night near the height

 of some long forgotten portage

you can hear the cry of the voyageur - Huzza Huzza Pour Le Pays Sauvage!!!”

Not Just a Pastime, it’s a Heritage.
